This map is a summarized version of the travels of Charles F. Nelson as a member of the 12th Indiana Volunteer Infantry. It doesn’t contain all the points listed in his diary, but indicates the major towns, cities and battles that he participated in. This represents more than 3,500 miles that he and his comrades marched, travelled by train, and in one instance by ferry. The route begins and ends in Warsaw, Indiana.
